If I got 100 employees to change one lightbulb in their home to the new efficient ones -- could you tell me some facts on what we could save the earth? I would like to give this info to the administrator and hopefully start a campaign on green living.

Good for you! Just a few small changes can make a difference, particularly at the office. Each time you switch to a compact fluorescent light bulb, it keeps nearly 700 pounds of carbon dioxide out of the air over the bulb's lifetime. One hundred bulbs would keep nearly 35 tons of carbon dioxide out of the air. By making a few small changes you can save energy (and money) at the office. The first step is to shut off any screen savers on your computers, an idle computer running a screensaver consumes as much power as it does when you're using it! Check NRDC's Greening Advisor a guide that can help any commercial business or organization to reduce its environmental impacts for more information.
