I am trying to reasearch the best kind of dinnerware I should be using in my kitchen for my children as well as my husband and I. I am trying to clear my kitchen of plastic. Am willing to try bamboo, glass or ceramic (non-toxic, of course) but don't know what is best. Any suggestions?

You\'re right to avoid plastic, most plastics are made from petroleum and certain kinds of plastic can leach chemicals into food and beverages. Plastic also creates a lot of waste, even when it\'s recycled. Ceramic and glass are better options for dinnerware. Imported ceramic dishes have occasionally been found to contain lead. Likewise, the paint on dishes might contain lead. The best choice might be to pick unpainted plates or bowls made in the United States.
