I have chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia. I also live 7 miles from a wood products mill that discharges directly into the ocean. I try to get to the beach every day. I also discharges into the air.

Can you advise if there could be a connection between my health issues and the mill. If not, any other environmental issues I should be aware of? I eat organic and distill my water.

I often hear from people that they wonder about connections between their illness and local pollution. It’s really hard to know if any particular illness is or isn’t related to a particular pollution source. Chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia are tough conditions to have, since nobody really knows what causes them, they can be quite disabling, and sometimes medical providers are less sympathetic than perhaps they should be. I really don’t know if the wood products mill is related in any way to your condition, although if it is a polluter, it should be cleaned up. I hope you get the medical care you need and begin to make a great recovery.
