Shopping and Storage

When shopping, look for peaches that are fragrant and a little firm. If they are hard or green, they will never ripen.

Be cautious, because peaches bruise very easily which then turns to rotting. A ripe peach will keep in a plastic bag in the refrigerator for one or two days.


Sliced peaches are delicious over cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, and eaten plain for a snack. If you prefer your peaches peeled, place them in boiling water for about thirty seconds, then drop them into ice water. The skins should come off easily.
