What's Trash? TerraCycle Tries to Toss the Idea of Waste
TerraCycle began as a retailer of worm-castings—in other words, poop from food scraps munched by worms. But Princeton-dropout Tom Szaky, who was 19 years old when he founded the company, has expanded it to sell backpacks made of Capri-Sun fruit juice containers, shopping bags of pressed Target sacks, plant pots of the melted backs of circuit boards and other electronic waste and dozens of other products. We took a look at how they do it.
