Brooklyn Navy Yard
Today's green jobs are rising in reconceived industrial parks, including the historic Brooklyn Navy Yard (BNY), originally built in 1801 but long fallen into desuetude. The yards are now being rebuilt by the non-profit Brookyn Navy Yard Development Corporation, whose mission is to create environmentally sustainable industrial employment in New York City.
